Vest-style haptic feedback audio device for home ravers

Project Brief

This project is designed for people who enjoy hosting personal raves at home, known as “home ravers” or “bedroom ravers.” These individuals often want to create a festival-like atmosphere in their private spaces without attending live events. To recreate the live music experience, they tend to play music at high volumes, which can be disruptive to neighbors. Reducing the volume, however, can lessen the intensity and enjoyment of the music.

To address this, we have developed a device tailored for home ravers that offers the excitement of live music without the need for high volumes. By incorporating multiple speakers and multi-crossover stereo technology, the device provides an immersive audio experience. It also features sensory feedback to enhance the feel of the music, compensating for the reduced sound levels.

The device integrates a total of four vibration motors, two at the front and two at the back, positioned in the most comfortable and effective areas based on testing, providing users with a more immersive vibration feedback experience.
Control section: The up and down buttons adjust the vibration intensity, while the left and right buttons control the volume. To distinguish between them, the surface of the vibration adjustment buttons features a raised texture design.
The stereo system consists of four speakers, with different audio tracks of a song allocated to each speaker, simulating the effect of sound coming from different directions, just like in a live performance.
