Hi, I'm Sumaya 👋 I am a UX designer with a multidisciplinary background in sociology and UX, excelling in innovative research methods to drive user-centered and impactful design solutions.
Homeownership is rapidly declining in the UK and those being particularly impacted by the crisis are young British Muslims.
This exacerbates inequality, as those who are able to buy property can accumulate wealth, while those who cannot remain financially stagnant or become poorer. This growing inequality can lead to reduced social mobility, making it harder for individuals to improve their economic status.
Faithful finance is a product aimed at young British Muslims who seek stability and personal freedom through homeownership but lack the knowledge and struggle to compare different finance options that align with their beliefs.
With advanced filters and detailed information, Faithful finance makes it easier to discover Islamic mortgage options based on individual needs and preferences.
Compare mortgage options side-by-side to easily evaluate their features and benefits, allowing you to make an informed choice and select the option that best fits your needs and preferences.
For those still concerned about the authenticity of finance plans, the app’s ‘Learn’ section offers clear, easily digestible explanations of complex financial topics. Gain confidence to make informed decisions.
In this project, I leveraged creative research methods to uncover deeper user insights. Shadowing provided a close-up view of user behaviours and interactions in their natural environments, revealing critical context and pain points. Role play was used to simulate different scenarios and gather diverse perspectives, enriching our understanding of user experiences and challenges. These sessions facilitated the creation of a comprehensive journey map, capturing detailed user experiences and interactions.
To align the final solution with user needs, I engaged participants directly in ideation sessions. This collaborative approach allowed users to contribute their ideas and feedback, which was instrumental in defining the final solution. Their active involvement ensured the solution was not only user-centred but also highly relevant and effective in addressing their specific needs.
