Linhai’s practice concerns synthesis between drawn elements fused with diverse materials, focused on creating extraordinary textures. His area of expertise includes typography and illustration, encompassing visual design and packaging. Linhai’s ambition is to create consumer-appropriate merchandise designed from distinct materials.

The project attempts to dispel myths surrounding the death penalty, related to the differences in public opinion between China and the West. Despite the global campaign to “Abolish the Death Penalty” by PGA, the world’s view of the death sentence remains erroneous and blind.

This campaign communicates infographics, multi-media illustrations, and layout design in book format. This product will cover topics such as the historical evolution of fatal convictions, views of capital punishment in China and the West, and forecasts of future developments in the death penalty.

This part focuses on the Chinese people’s perceptions of the death sentence, using illustrations to demonstrate what the death penalty can achieve for them and the social implications of abolishing it.

The content of the image depicts the role of the death penalty in Chinese idea, which can provide deterrent, and if the death penalty is abolished, the resentment of the dead souls would never be alleviated.

CRITICISM: NEWBORN AND AGAINST HUMANITY

This section examines attitudinal perceptions of the death sentence in Western countries and the causes for them.

Through abstract illustrations showing the image of “gears spinning”, the expressionless figures show that the existence of the death penalty tends to paralyse people, emphasising the need to abolish the death penalty.
