Passionate about design's problem-solving capabilities, I leveraged 5 years as a UX Designer across automotive, healthcare, and job-search sectors before advancing my expertise with a Master's degree.

Problem Statement

Dyslexia affects 20% of the global population, yet many studies highlight alarming statistics that expose the systemic failures in our education system.

The added burden of negative social stigma only worsens their struggles and further undermines their confidence.

“I believe there is an opportunity to design a service for adult dyslexic students, who lack self-confidence,

that helps them become aware of their learning needs and encourage them to seek necessary support without feeling guilty or judged

so that they can overcome their unique learning challenges and feel equipped and confident to pursue their academic goals and aspirations.”

myLexia: Discover Learning

An app designed to be a personalised guide for dyslexic learners, with LexAI at its core. LexAI continuously learns about each user’s unique needs, delivering tailored, relevant content to enhance their learning experience. Additionally, the app connects users with a supportive community that offers emotional support and practical tips, creating a holistic environment for growth and empowerment.

Design Process: Evolving With Every Project

Every designer’s process is unique, and each project requires a tailored approach. Throughout my master’s program, I had the chance to explore and refine my design process, discovering what works best for me. As I continue to grow, I embrace the idea that my process will evolve over time, adapting to new methods, tools, and insights gained from future challenges.

Design Approach: Empathy At The Core

I focus on understanding and solving users’ pain points through empathy and creativity. By deeply engaging with users, I uncover insights that drive meaningful, user-centred solutions. Seeing the world through their eyes allows me to design with true impact, creating innovative solutions that address real needs.

My Design Influencers

The Power of Storytelling

Stories allow us to share a part of ourselves with the world. I love listening to and telling stories, finding them an effective way to express ideas and generate empathy among stakeholders. Stories engage us on a deeper level, helping us connect emotionally and see ourselves in the protagonist’s shoes, making them a powerful tool for creating understanding and alignment in design.

Curiosity and Reflection

I’ve always been a curious person, never accepting things at face value. When I encounter something new, I instinctively reflect and ask questions: Why does it exist? What problem does it solve? How can it be improved? These questions fuel my passion, often keeping me awake at night as I chase that eureka moment. It’s this relentless curiosity that drives me to uncover deeper insights and innovative solutions.

Observation: My Superpower

Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by patterns and shapes, often immersing myself in a world of meaning. Observation is my superpower, enabling me to step back and see the bigger picture while zooming in to capture the finer details. This balance of perspective fuels my design process, helping me create solutions that are both comprehensive and meticulously crafted.
